Free Resources for Entrepreneurs

July 15, 2009

… or people who just like free resources.

As I have been working to start my own business, I have run into countless resources for doing it well. One I will say is my friend Darren Wendroff, of Wendroff & Associates, CPA. He will be hosting a Quickbooks webinar July 22 at 1:30! This is a free event open to the public, so if you are interested, RSVP at Free Quickbook Online Webinar

While I am speaking of free resources, I will plug a few local resources (local Orlando that is. Similar resources may be in your city as well.)

One key resource is the Disney Entrepreneurial Center housing several other local organizations so small businesses can access a variety of business resources, technology, research tools and more than 8 resident support organizations who can provide: Free One-on-One Business, Coaching, Low-cost Seminars, Powerful Networking Events, Access to Business Building Tools and Resources, Certification assistance for Minority Owned Businesses, Connections to Procurement Opportunities, Publicity Opportunities. This one-of-a-kind resource is available to any small business and is continually evolving to serve the needs of our dynamic and diverse small business community.

One organization they house is SCORE. Orlando SCORE provides free and confidential business counseling tailored to meet the needs of small business and offers workshops for both start-up and current businesses. Their Main website is: SCORE

A couple of great websites I have used are:
For Development
Free Mission Statement Builder
Standford’s Free Resource Website (check out Guy Kawasaki’s talks here.
This Week in StartUps check out their podcast in I-tunes.

For Collaboration
Office Live
ZOHO (There are more than collaboration resources here.)

Legal help (though I currently cannot comment on quality or even legality ūüėČ )
Lawdepot (One of the best from what I can tell $ and quality)
My Corperation (having a summer sale right now.)

I welcome any comments or suggestions to this blog.
