NY Bridal Trends

February 19, 2010

There are a lot of women out there, deep in the trenches of wedding planning now.  If they didn’t get that ring on Christmas their wait till Valentines has made them forget all the worry….  They have traded in those worries for wedding planning worries.  I can’t imagine what wedding planning would be like in this economic situation.  I guess it would be more fun, more unique, more creative.  Great for creative types I guess but for those new to the game of thrift, help is on the way.  The New York Post writes that “If you’re getting married but need to watch your wallet, Bridal Guide has several articles focused on penny-pinching. It offers 75 money-saving tips and a spread of cheap gowns, all under $850, though in this economy even $850 seems like a bit of a stretch.”

Brides is “calling March its “special dress issue.” But here’s a little secret about the bridal-magazine industry: Every issue is the dress issue. Brides tries to “reinvent” the wedding gown, adding feathers, origami folds and cascades of pleating, but these over-the-top numbers are more Lady Gaga than ladylike.”

So, My advice: add feathers. You don’t have to be too lady Gaga, unless you want to be. Call me and schedule an appointment and we can look how feathers can make your dress more romantic.
