We made it into the Rotary Fest 2010

February 26, 2010

I just got the acceptance this week!

This is a fund-raising event, raising money for the following charities: Russell Home for Atypical Children, Boy Scouts / Girl Scouts, Eccleston Elementary School

For the past 15 years, the Rotary Club of Orlando has sponsored RotaryFest, a sidewalk chalk-art event featuring professional and student artists from the Orlando area. The venues have included the steps of City Hall, Eola Park International Bridge and Heritage Park in front of the Orange County Regional History Center. The events have always focused exclusively on the chalk artists.

During RotaryFest 2010, they will include “traditional artists” of varied medias; and, drink and food vendors for a more festive atmosphere. The chalk artists will be actively creating their art. Keeping true to that theme, the “traditional artists” will be asked to be actively engaged in creating art in their chosen media.

For this first year, we plan to feature 20-25 artists. It is our intent to present as wide a variety of media as possible, including paint, pottery, sculpture, caricatures, and more.
Other than the Chalk-Art, this year’s event will be non-juried.
